"This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand." - Ephesians 6:13
In this passage, Paul lays out the full armor of God. He teaches the believer to walk in truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, and carry the sword of the Spirit, "...which is God's word" (Eph 6:17).
In the fourth chapter of Matthew and Luke, Jesus gives us a demonstration of this armor. When He was being tempted by the devil, not only did He carry the shield of faith to "... to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one" (Eph 6:16), He answered the devil saying "it is written..." He chose God's word as His weapon to fight off the temptation and accusations of the evil one.

By bringing the historical context, the knowledge of scholars and Spirit-led devotions to the believer, Speransa endeavours to bring forth sound doctrine that is not influenced by denomination or tradition, but established in the truth of Scripture, as it was revealed by the Holy Spirit.
